Weld On Kits

Battle Version Weld On Kits for Front lower control arms are designed to add up to 2 inches of length to your control arms while getting rid of the rubber bushing. The kit is very simple and can be welded on with a mig or tig. I do not suggest at all to use an arc or torch weld. It will fall apart.

To install first you must take off the lower arm.

Next measure 3 1/4 inches from the inside of the arm from the top (just past the hole). Mark a line and cut straight down.

Then place the top piece (with a hole to fit adjuster end) and adjuster end into the control arm and weld in place. Be sure to clean the surfaces before you weld and be sure to weld as much of the area as possible. Be very careful not to damage the inside threads. To do this cover the hole with something non flameable.

Next weld the gusset plate on the bottom portion. Let it cool off and then paint it to prevent rust. Before you put the adjuster and rod end back in, use some anti seize or thread lubricant and make sure the threads are clean. It can be very easy to strip the threads if you have not taken the steps to prevent weld slag from entering the threaded area of the adjuster so please be very careful of this. One added tip is if you are planning on adding a lot of length to your lower arms, before you install them, it would be a good time to drill a new hole for your sway bar. Simply drill a new hole about an inch further inwards using a uni bit.
